Are you ready to climb back into the ring? The franchise that has entertained wrestling fans across the globe for over 15 years is back with the release of WWE 2K18. Coming to the Switch for the very first time, this edition of the popular series promises to provide a visually impressive and stimulating sports game for Nintendo’s revolutionary console.

WWE 2K18 marks the end of a five-year hiatus between Nintendo and the wrestling series when WWE ’13 was released on the Japanese company’s console, the Wii, back in 2012.
In this release, WWE have added a new MyPLAYER mode that introduces a selection of different fighting styles. These specific styles can then alter the way in which your chosen character acts during matches. Each specific mode has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it really matters which one you choose.

The new Road to Glory mode is cleverly combined with MyPLAYER to give you the opportunity to take to the ring with others across the globe. This then allows gamers to qualify for a variety of pay-per-view WWE events, adding new depth to the franchise for the very first time.

Where WWE 2K18 differs from its predecessors the most is from within the ring. With 2K18, the developers have tried to make the most realistic wrestling game possible and that stems from introducing a new graphics engine. This new addition has the capability to overhaul the lighting modes, increase the realism of wrestling stars in and out of matches and change the camera system.

Also new to WWE 2K18 is a commentary team that includes Byron Saxton, Corey Graves and Michael Cole. Recording their lines since last year, the trio have been brought in to ensure the sound bites during brawls are as close to the real thing as possible.
Elsewhere, a brand-new carrying mechanic has been introduced that allows players to move their opponents after initiating a grapple. You can then use signature moves to help you win the match, much to the enjoyment of the watching crowd.

When it comes to characters, WWE 2K18 has the biggest roster of wrestlers ever seen in the franchise. Including over 180 of the world’s best-known stars like John Cena, Bobby Roode and Mr Perfect. With the increased graphical performance and the Nintendo Switch’s revolutionary set-up, it promises to be an unmissable release for fans of the sport and newcomers alike.
